Since 1982, over 150,000 youth have been helped with Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) programs. Position Description

We are currently looking for a Data and Evaluation Specialist who shares our vision. At Y.O.U., we are committed to building a culture of routinely tracking and using data to improve practice and inform decisions regarding our program outcomes and goals. The Data and Evaluation Specialist is responsible for program data collection and analysis, performance measurement, compliance standards, and research. This position supports Y.O.U.’s efforts to effectively collect, track, analyze, and report data for continuous program improvement and learning initiatives. The person in this role must be dedicated to program evaluation and research, especially in the education and youth development fields.


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited university or college. Bachelors of Science degree preferred.
  • Requirements:
    • 1-3 years of experience with relational databases and data quality management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with program compliance and reporting.
    • Must be dedicated to education and youth development program evaluation and research.

  • Collect and analyze various Y.O.U. programs’ data and organizational initiatives. Work with Manager to present findings and/or making recommendations for action.
  • Monitor data quality, accuracy, and integrity through routine and random audits. Make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Develop reporting methods to track program participant demographics, utilization, and outcomes.
  • Import/export data between databases for reports. Minimize redundancies and errors.
  • Organize and present data/findings in a meaningful and impactful way to various audiences.
  • Conduct program quality assurance audits, compliance reviews, and prepares reports.
  • Work with Manager to provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting of database management and reporting matters for Y.O.U. staff to build a culture of effectively using data.
  • Assist in building repository of research and best practices for developing and modifying Y.O.U. programs and services.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
