Position Overview

We are currently looking for professionals who share our vision to join the Y.O.U. team as Education Trainer & Facilitators. This role takes full responsibility and ownership of planning, teaching, and coordinating classes currently offered through the Youth Resource Center and Y.O.U.’s Day One program. The Education Trainer & Facilitator must be passionate about teaching youth and young adults (ages 14-24) life skills, workforce development training, and encouraging career exploration. This person will work with staff at the YRC and Y.O.U. to implement partnership goals and will be highly visible within the community.

Qualifications

  • Education: BA/BS in Education, Learning & Development, Communications, or other related field. Certification in Adult Education highly preferred.
  • Requirements:
    • 2+ years of teaching life skills or workforce development education courses. Experience teaching adult education classes highly preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in curriculum design and execution.
    • Must have experience coordinating/managing multiple projects.
    • Experience in the non-profit industry a plus.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Belief and commitment to Y.O.U’s mission, vision, and values.
    • Comfortable designing and developing interactive learning solutions.
    • Proven success of leading curriculum development initiatives.
    • Knowledgeable of methods for teaching youth and young adults life skills and workforce development training.
    • Track record of working with diverse populations and/or with at-risk youth and young adults.
    • Ability to build relationships with community members and understand inner city Cleveland culture.
    • Energetic, solution-oriented, adaptable, and flexible.
    • Extremely strong written and spoken communication skills. Highly attentive to details.
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once.
    • Ability to work in a results oriented and data driven environment
    • Comfortable using database management systems, including Microsoft Excel, to track data on enrollees and provide timely reports.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of team under minimal supervision.
    • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver and develop the training and credentialing courses using interactive learning solutions to community members enrolled in programs.
  • Design and maintain curriculum materials aligned with participant’s needs and priorities.
  • Continuously refine curriculum for employability skills, training events, and job fairs at community locations that bring workforce resources to local neighborhoods and schools.
  • Enter accurate and complete information into database management system in order to track data and generate regular reports.
  • Provide timely data information and reports to senior staff as directed and required.
  • Utilize assessment and evaluation techniques to determine individual employability needs, barriers, and interests.
  • Conduct on-going case management, monitoring, and follow up as needed.
  • Lead tutoring sessions for GED study, math, and reading skills throughout the week.
  • Maintain knowledge and latest training/development research on adult education methods, skills, and instructional technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
